eCommerce Services

Ten ecommerce practices. One senior team.

Design, build, migrate, integrate, and optimize — delivered end to end by the same senior engineers who scope the work. No junior bench, no account-manager telephone game, no discovering halfway through that your team was swapped out.

How We Work

Most agencies sell you a team. We send you one.

The pattern is familiar enough to be a cliché: senior people win the pitch, junior people build the store, and the first anyone tells you is when the timeline slips or the code review comes back ugly. It is the single most common reason projects land on our desk half-finished.

We run the opposite way round. The engineer who scopes your build writes the code. That constraint keeps us small and deliberately so — sixteen years in, we would rather turn work down than staff it thin. It also means estimates come from the person who has to honour them, which is why our timelines tend to survive contact with reality.

Every practice below is delivered by that same team, acrossAdobe Commerce,Shopify Plus,BigCommerce, andWooCommerce. Most engagements combine several — a replatform with SEO migration and a performance budget, or a B2B build with anERP integration behind it.

What We Do

Ten practices, one accountable team.

Engage us for one or for all ten. Either way you get named senior engineers, a written scope, and a schedule someone is willing to put their name to.

eCommerce Web Design

UX RESEARCH · DESIGN SYSTEMS · CRO-LED

Storefront design that starts with how your buyers actually shop — the search patterns, the comparison behaviour, the ten questions they need answered before they will spend. We design in a system, not in one-off page mockups, so the build stays consistent and your team can extend it later without calling us.

  • UX audit and buyer-journey mapping before a single pixel
  • Component-level design systems handed over in Figma
  • Mobile-first layouts designed against a performance budget
  • Accessibility baked in, not bolted on at QA
/02

eCommerce Development

CUSTOM BUILDS · MODULES · APIS

The features your platform cannot ship out of the box: configurators, custom checkout logic, subscription mechanics, complex pricing, bespoke admin tooling. We write it as maintainable, tested, upgrade-safe code — not core hacks that quietly break at the next platform release.

  • Custom modules, apps, and extensions on all four platforms
  • Published work on the Adobe Commerce Marketplace and Shopify App Store
  • Automated test coverage and CI on every build we own
  • Code you keep — documented, in your repository, no lock-in
/03

eCommerce Consultancy

PLATFORM SELECTION · ARCHITECTURE · ROADMAP

Advice from engineers who then have to build the thing. We map your catalog, your B2B rules, your integrations, and your internal team before recommending a stack — which is why our recommendation is sometimes "stay where you are and fix these four things" rather than a rebuild.

  • Platform selection with a written, costed rationale
  • Solution architecture for multi-store, multi-region, multi-warehouse
  • Phased roadmaps your finance team can actually budget
  • Fractional CTO support for teams without in-house commerce leadership
/04

Performance Optimization

CORE WEB VITALS · TTFB · CHECKOUT SPEED

Speed is a revenue lever, not a vanity score. We profile the real bottlenecks — server response, render-blocking assets, layout instability, third-party tag bloat — and fix the ones that move conversion, then leave you a performance budget so the gains do not evaporate in three months.

  • Core Web Vitals brought into passing range and kept there
  • TTFB, caching, and indexing work at the infrastructure layer
  • Third-party script auditing and tag governance
  • Hyvä and headless frontends where the theme is the bottleneck
/05

Replatforming

MIGRATION · SEO PRESERVATION · ZERO DOWNTIME

Magento to Shopify Plus, WooCommerce to BigCommerce, legacy anything to modern anything. The engineering is the easy half; the hard half is moving catalog, customers, order history, and search equity without a revenue dip in the switchover month. We plan for that from day one.

  • Full data migration: catalog, customers, orders, price lists
  • URL mapping and redirect strategy to protect rankings
  • Parallel-run and staged cutover, rehearsed before go-live
  • Post-launch monitoring through the first full trading cycle
/06

Health Check Audit

CODE · CONVERSION · GROWTH

A fixed-scope review of what you have: code quality, security posture, performance, conversion leaks, SEO health, and integration fragility. You get a prioritised, costed roadmap — and an honest keep, fix, or rebuild verdict, including when the answer is cheaper than hiring us for a rebuild.

  • Code-level review by the engineers who would do the work
  • Conversion and analytics teardown with quantified leaks
  • Security, patch level, and dependency risk assessment
  • Written roadmap with effort, sequence, and expected impact
/07

B2B & Wholesale

QUOTE-TO-CART · ACCOUNT PRICING · ERP-SYNCED

B2B buying is not DTC with a login. It is contract pricing, approval chains, requisition lists, credit terms, partial shipments, and a rep who needs to place an order on a customer's behalf. We build those mechanics natively into the platform and wire them to the ERP that holds the truth.

  • Quote-to-cart workflows with approval routing
  • Customer-group and contract pricing synced from ERP
  • Requisition lists, reorder flows, and rep-assisted ordering
  • Dealer and distributor portals with per-account catalogs
/08

eCommerce SEO

TECHNICAL SEO · MIGRATIONS · CONTENT

Technical SEO for stores with real catalogs — faceted navigation that does not spawn fifty thousand thin URLs, structured data that earns rich results, and internal linking that pushes authority to the categories that make money. Plus the migration work that protects it all during a replatform.

  • Crawl, index, and faceted-navigation architecture
  • Product and category schema for rich results
  • Migration SEO: redirect mapping, parity checks, rank monitoring
  • Content programs aimed at commercial-intent queries
/09

Headless Commerce

HYDROGEN · NEXT.JS · GRAPHQL · CATALYST

Real headless architecture, not headless-washing. We decouple when there is a reason — a frontend the platform theme cannot deliver, multiple channels off one catalog, an editorial layer that needs its own release cycle — and we tell you plainly when a fast conventional build would serve you better.

  • Shopify Hydrogen and BigCommerce Catalyst storefronts
  • React frontends over Adobe Commerce GraphQL and REST
  • Edge rendering and caching strategy that survives peak traffic
  • An honest cost-of-ownership conversation before you commit
/10

Conversion Rate Optimization

RESEARCH · TESTING · INSTRUMENTATION

Hypothesis-driven testing with defensible measurement. We start from session recordings, funnel data, and customer research rather than a listicle of best practices, then run tests long enough to mean something. Wins ship into the codebase; losses get documented so nobody retries them next year.

  • Funnel instrumentation and analytics you can trust
  • Qualitative research: recordings, polls, support-ticket mining
  • A/B and multivariate testing with honest significance thresholds
  • Checkout, PDP, and search-experience optimization

Engagement Model

Four phases. No surprises in any of them.

Whether it is a two-week audit or a nine-month replatform, the shape of the work is the same — and you always know which phase you are in.

01

Discover

We interrogate the catalog, the integrations, the analytics, and the team. You get a written scope with assumptions made explicit — including the ones that could move the number.

02

Architect

Platform, data model, integration contracts, and performance budget agreed before code starts. This is the phase that prevents the expensive surprise in month four.

03

Build

Two-week sprints, a staging environment you can click through, and direct access to the engineers building it. No status theatre, no translation layer.

04

Launch & grow

Rehearsed cutover, monitored launch, then a growth backlog — performance, CRO, SEO — because launch day is the start of the work, not the end of it.

Why It Holds Up

The boring commitments that make projects land.

01

Named engineers

You know who is building your store, and they were in the scoping call. Nobody gets swapped out for a cheaper resource after the contract is signed.

02

Written scope, fixed shape

Change requests are priced and agreed, not absorbed silently and then billed as an overrun at the end of the quarter.

03

Your code, your repo

Everything we write is documented and handed over. If you leave us, you leave with a codebase another team can pick up.

04

Certified where it counts

Adobe Certified Experts on Magento work, and hands-on delivery experience across Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, and WooCommerce.

05

Follow-the-sun cover

Teams across US, NZ, and PK time zones, so a peak-season incident does not wait for a single office to wake up.

06

We say no

If a project is wrong for us, or a rebuild is wrong for you, we say so in the first call. It costs us work and saves everyone a bad year.

FAQ

Services questions.

Can we engage you for a single service?+

Yes. Plenty of clients start with a Health Check Audit or a performance sprint and nothing more. Others run a full replatform with us. We scope each practice so it stands alone, and we will tell you if the thing you asked for will not fix the problem you described.

Do you work with our existing in-house developers?+

Often. We work as an embedded senior pair for in-house teams — code review, architecture, and the specialist work they do not want to hire permanently for. Your team keeps ownership; we bring platform depth.

How do you price work?+

Audits and defined scopes are fixed-price. Longer builds run as sprint-based retainers with an agreed roadmap, so you can stop, pause, or re-prioritise between sprints instead of being locked into one large opaque number.

How quickly can you start?+

We reply to every enquiry within one business day with a straight answer on availability. Audits usually start within two weeks; larger builds are scheduled around the current delivery calendar, and we will give you a real date rather than an optimistic one.

Can you take over a project another agency started?+

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. We begin with a code-level audit so you get an independent read on what is salvageable before you commit budget — including the uncomfortable finding, if that is what the code says.

Which platform should we be on?+

It depends on catalog complexity, B2B requirements, integration load, and the team that has to run it day to day. We are certified across all four and paid the same either way, so the recommendation is genuinely platform-agnostic. See Platforms for how we compare them.
